Maine First District Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-North Haven) is endorsing Eloise Vitelli (D-Arrowsic) for the State Senate seat vacated by Seth Goodall, who was appointed Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration.

“I am proud to endorse Eloise Vitelli in her election to replace Seth Goodall,” said Rep. Pingree. “Eloise has the leadership skills we need in the Maine State Senate.”

Rep. Pingree continued, “Eloise will use her job creation experience to build on Maine’s strengths by supporting local farmers and small businesses.  And we can count on Eloise to fight for access to affordable healthcare for all Mainers.  I hope that you’ll agree that Eloise Vitelli is the best choice for State Senate and give her your vote on August 27th.”

Eloise Vitelli is a former Head Start pre-school teacher who also served for ten years on the school board in Arrowsic.  She has a graduate degree in Education from the University of Southern Maine.

Vitelli is also a long-time, well-known advocate for small business and entrepreneurship in Maine. She has helped more than 3,000 Mainers start their own businesses through her work at Women, Work, and Community.

“I am honored to have Congresswoman Pingree’s support,” said Vitelli. “She has been a leader for women, small business, and Maine coastal communities both in Congress and the Maine Senate. I hope to follow her example of strong leadership for Maine’s communities.”

The Special Election for Senate District 19, which includes all of Sagadahoc County and the town of Dresden in Lincoln County, will be held on August 27.
