This year in the Legislature, I was pleased to vote for a budget that supports property taxpayers, schools and students. We passed a record amount in education funding – $122 million of new funding. This will benefit communities across our state.
As students return to school, we all need to be mindful of school buses. If you’re driving behind a bus, please allow a greater following distance than if you were driving behind a car. It will give you more time to stop once the yellow lights start flashing. It is illegal in all 50 states to pass a school bus that is stopped to load or unload children.
As always, it is an honor to serve you. Please do not hesitate to contact me on any issues concerning state government.
